Offering a powerful new tool in the fight against coronavirus, UK-based business Rensair has established a distribution base in the Port of Antwerp in Belgium to deliver its air purification units, which are used by hospitals across Scandinavia and a number of NHS trusts in the UK, more quickly to customers across Europe.

Rensair’s portable units offer a simple and 99.97% effective way of eliminating all viruses and bacteria from air – including the coronavirus family of pathogens – as tested and verified by a number of independent laboratories*. Rensair will work with logistics partner Eutraco in Antwerp to ensure Europe-wide distribution, with the first shipment of units to arrive on March 4th.

“After successfully expanding in the UK and USA in 2020, continental Europe is now our key focus, creating safe environments in which people can work, study and provide medical services with hospital-grade purification. Following Brexit, this new base in Antwerp allows us a quick and reliable supply route to customers across the continent and we’re very grateful for the assistance of Flanders Investment and Trade in helping us to set up so quickly,” says Christian Hendriksen, co-founder of Rensair.

The Rensair system works through a powerful fan which pulls air in to a HEPA 13 filter where bacteria and viruses are trapped and exposed to a strong UVC light. Unlike in standard air filtration systems, this light destroys the DNA and RNA of all microorganisms, eliminating them and preventing any onwards transmission, and then blows out clean air in a full 360 degree distribution**.

Rensair’s patented technology was developed in Denmark in 2002 by engineer Henrik Hendriksen, father of Christian, as an improvement to the air filtration systems available to help his son cope with severe allergies. The system proved to be so effective that it was quickly put into use by hospitals and care homes and has recently also been adopted by a number of National Health Service (NHS) trusts to help fight coronavirus in the UK.

Rensair’s referral partner in the Antwerp area, Albert Pegg of EnerjetiXX, was instrumental in introducing the founders of Rensair to the right people/companies in the Port of Antwerp and Flanders, enabling an efficient entry into the region.
