Orchard Cottage Dental Surgery Reassures Patients with Rensair

December 31, 2020 – 2 Min

Dr. Sue Taylor, owner of Orchard Cottage Dental Surgery in Fetcham, Leatherhead, says air purification was always a consideration at her surgery. “We have always had excellent ventilation and the practice building is large. When the coronavirus pandemic occurred, just like with other dental surgeries in the United Kingdom, we had to implement changes such as introducing FFP3 masks and air purification.”

It required satisfying many regulations in order to reopen following the lockdown. The surgery sees only one patient or family at a time, and the staff wear a full complement of personal protective equipment (PPE) gear. As more became known about the vital role aerosols play in transmitting COVID-19, the Office of the Chief Dental Officer England put forth precise details on air purification requirements

So Dr Taylor set to work investigating a variety of air purification systems. She found many companies did not explain the details of their purification system as well as Rensair. “Once I knew the science behind Rensair, it was reassuring.”

She ultimately went with Rensair for a variety of reasons. “The actual air exchange of 560 m3 per hour was especially important as it allows up to 12 air exchanges an hour in my surgery” she says. “I also appreciated that clean air leaves the Rensair at 360 degrees.” Learn more about Rensair’s patented technology.

There were practical considerations, too. “The transportable and easy to install aspect of Rensair was appealing,” says Dr Taylor. “And the professional and clinical look of the Rensair unit fit well with the dental surgery environment,” she says.

Rensair air purifiers are portable and efficient

“Patients may have been initially nervous at coming in for treatment during these times,” says Dr Taylor, “but I’ve seen that Rensair air purification adds to their confidence.” Her staff also feel very secure.

“Rensair has substantially reduced our fallow time,” says Dr Taylor. “We can now have the surgery ready for the next patient in 10 to 15 minutes following aerosol dispersion.”

Dr Taylor says she’s glad to be treating patients again, and with the added comfort of Rensair air purification system she is minimising risk to all in the surgery.
